This is a fix for showing graphics through BOINC Manager when BOINC is installed to its own user account (such as when installed from the Fedora repositories). It has been confirmed to work in Fedora 7, although it will probably also work on other Linux distros out there. With thanks to Eric Myers for providing it.

If you have a project that has graphics and you're using BOINC Manager, but the Show Graphics does nothing whenever you select a running task, you can use this:

Type as yourself from a terminal window: xhost +si:localuser:boinc

Then try opening the graphics.

This assumes BOINC was installed to a user account called boinc.
