I'm Ed Moran, living in Bellingham, WA after 35 years in San Jose. I've been crunching since the beginning, and now that I have too much free time I've been looking deeper into boinc. While I'm catching up on boinc and learning its deeper secrets I'm putting together a boinc beginner's portal-directory site, boinc.info, aimed to ease the newbie shock when beginners first arrive. What I'm doing:

First pass cleanup - Import links/images, fix format, test links

Finished Miscellaneous, Starting client FAQ

Goal: Clean up to a passable 'go-live' quality

• copy links and images - Open the original boinc, compare the two entries and rebuild links and insert images.
• basic formatting - rebuild lists as '*' (hint: paste from bottom up), add cleanup breaks, strong, etc., passable enough to go live. This is formatting only - content is unchanged.
• test links - broken links list on to-do page making a list.
• to-do - add link to-do page for revisits - formatting jobs, old tables, etc.
• notes - open the page's discussion, leave any notes and a 4-tilde tag for timestamp
