Set priority for running tasks

Why can't I decide what the priority is for tasks running. I can circumvent it temporarily on the running task, but have to do this each time a task starts anew. David: Why do you want to do this?

Because I feel it speeds up the application, it does the work faster when the priority of the application is higher than what it is now. To be added to.
