What is the oldest version we keep in the FAQs? BOINC 6, BOINC 7?
I looked over the top 2000 hosts at E@H and the number running BOINC6 was exactly 20 (1%), with over 50% running specifically 7.6.22.
Over time some FAQs will be obsolete (for many reasons), so perhaps there needs to be a place for FAQs to retire gracefully. Agentb (talk) 00:58, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
I have looked at the list of recently connected clients on SETI@home, with over a quarter still using version 6 or below. Kiska (talk) 10:16, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
What do we do with projects? Do we add them in, leave them out?
We could add a place holder for each project. If the Project admins and owners have their own place, then the only question is "Where is the Project's FAQ?". They might have good reason for not wanting to publish here, duplicating work etc, but i could see some small projects finding somewhere easy to publish. Agentb (talk) 01:11, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
CreditNew, what to do with it.
I'll write some to most of the CreditNew system/implementation. I expect this page to be completed in 4 weeks, complications might appear. :) --Kiska (talk) 04:00, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
Project GPU requirements
Project GPU Requirements has a large table of changing data that needs to be manually maintained, maybe we should direct the user to go to the project site for details. If we're keeping the table we'll have to come back to it, it's pretty big. Bowtieguru (talk) 19:44, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
First pass cleanup
I've started with the misc faqs, and after doing a few, here's what's I'm doing:
- copy over links, note the 404s
- add breaks and strongs for readability, sort of
- create ul's out of various lists of step, they need repair.
- make note of the high-labor pages for later
Adding headers is a data architecture step so I'm leaving it behind to be done separately.
The goal is to make a passable go-live version, not exactly perfect but not too bad. I've finished the misc-general section if you'd like to take a look. I'll be tracking progress on my profile page as I go along.
