I'm Ed Moran, living in Bellingham, WA after 35 years in San Jose. I've been crunching since the beginning, and now that I have too much free time I've been looking deeper into boinc. While I'm catching up on boinc and learning its deeper secrets I'm putting together a boinc beginner's portal-directory site, boinc.info, aimed to ease the newbie shock when beginners first arrive. The project list is live if you'd like to take a peek.

What I'm doing:

First pass cleanup - Import links/images, fix format, test links

Miscellaneous - done BOINC Client FAQ - done BOINC Acct Mgrs - next

Goal: Clean up to a passable 'go-live' quality

  • copy links and images - Open the original boinc, compare the two entries and rebuild links and insert images.
  • basic formatting - rebuild lists as '*' (hint: paste from bottom up), add cleanup breaks, strong, etc., passable enough to go live. This is formatting only - content is unchanged.
  • test links - list broken links on to-do page
  • to-do - list revisits on to-do page - big formatting jobs, old/odd tables, etc.
  • notes - leave any notes and a 4-tilde tag for timestamp in the page's discussion.
